Hard to believe, but Grudgematch Records isn’t interested in taking your band’s money. Furthermore, we don’t want you to sign a contract, either. If you want to become part of Grudgematch Records, email in a song. We’ll review it and let you know if we’re interested.
If you decide Grudgematch Records is for you, we’ll post your EP for sale for $4, and your full-length for $7. Grudgematch Records will only take 25 cents from each sale, this in order to pay the bills of the website and (hopefully) have some revenue for advertising expenses. You can continue selling meat-space albums, t-shirts and other stuff on your own. Or, we’ll put your t-shirts in our store and take a small cut of that, again to help with the bills and expenses.
There is no contract, and you and your band are free to walk away at any time. We’ll take down your stuff as soon as we’re asked to. Stay with us, and you’ll be rewarded with complete transparency. Weekly and monthly sales reports will be sent to you as well as a monthly check for your earnings. It’s an open relationship - you’ll know all the details and nothing will ever be hidden from you.
It’s simple. We want to build a community of good new music, build up the indie music scene and help bands help bands help bands. Our goal is to create a name like SST or Dischord – fantastic labels known for releasing quality music. The only thing we ask is for you to sign a disclaimer, stating that you’ll notify us before you sign any deal with the devil (or devils), so we can pull your stuff off the website and not get sued.
